Crispy Chinese Honey Garlic Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken breasts or thighs, cubed

  • ½ cup cornstarch

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • ½ cup honey

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 5 cloves garlic, minced

  • ¼ cup water

  • Oil for frying

  • Optional: sesame seeds, green onions

Instructions

  • Cut chicken into chunks, season lightly, and coat with egg and flour mixture.

  • Heat oil to 350°F and fry chicken in batches for 4-5 minutes until golden.

  • Make sauce by sautéing garlic, adding honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and water; simmer until glossy.

  • Toss fried chicken in sauce and serve immediately with rice or noodles.
