Sausage Mummies – Halloween Food for Kids

Ingredients

  • 8 sausages or hot dogs

  • 1 sheet puff pastry or crescent roll dough

  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)

  • Candy eyes or mustard/ketchup for eyes

  • Ketchup or marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.

  • Roll out pastry and cut into thin strips.

  • Wrap sausages with pastry strips, leaving a gap for the “face.”

  • Brush lightly with egg wash (optional).

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.

  • Add candy eyes or mustard dots.

  • Serve with ketchup or marinara sauce.

Notes

  • Dry sausages with a paper towel before wrapping to avoid soggy pastry.

  • Make mini versions with cocktail sausages for bite-sized snacks.
